Our Partner in China, Hubei Wuxue Xunda Pharmaceticlas Co.,Ltd. was founded in 1997. The manufacturing plant is located in Wuxue, China which covers a floor area of 30,000 square meters. Yonezawa Hamari Chemicals, Ltd. received approval from the Korean FDA in August of 2005 after a recent inspection in July of 2005.

July 2005 - The third plant starts operation
Hamari Chemicals started up the the third plant building of Yonezawa in July 2005. Custom Manufacturing business for pharmaceuticals has been growing up so that it was constructed and maximum production capability was increased by 30%. It is used mainly for the manufacturing of API and providing a better environment for cGMP. The total floor space will be 2,160 m (18mx40m, three floors.)

Hamari establishes Shanghai satellite office
We have opened a satellite office in Shanghai in order to monitor QA/QC functions of raw material being manufactured in Shanghai.

March 2005 - Launches two new patented forms of ALPHA LIPOIC ACID
We will start to supply two new forms of ALPHA LIPOIC ACID as an ingredient, for dietary supplements.We have patented both products which are made under the highest quality standards. The two new forms are 'Solvent Free' APLHA LIPOIC ACID and LipoEasy 'A water soluble and chemically stable fine crystal powder' Both materials are safer than normal ALPHA LIPOIC ACID and offers a variety of uses.

February 2004 - ISO 14001 Recertification
Hamari's facilities receive certificates of conformance from the annual ISO 14001 audit.

Hamari is recognized during a recent interview with C&E News by one of its customers, Amber Synthetics, Mr.Tony Mountford of Amber Synthetics is quoted in saying “Hamari is a fine chemicals firm in Osaka, Japan, with a specialization in peptide synthesis. They have a legendary Japanese determination to do things right,” Mountford said.

June 2003 - Commercial plant/Environmental Compliance/ Hamari was selected as one of the 5 best companies
Hamari's Commercial plant ( located in Yonezawa city) was selected as one of the 5 best companies having the most positive attitude towards Environmental protection and promoting Eco-activity in the Yamagata prefecture.
As a manufacturer of Pharmaceutical Ingredients, Hamari Chemicals was the first company to be ISO14001 certified in the Yamagata prefecture.

During the Eco-promotion campaign, Hamari implemented changes to reduce waste, promote energy conservation, and promote Eco-activity campaigns. Hamari also developed their own disposal technologies to minimize waste during the manufacturing processes

Industrial waste (Hazardous)- Reduced the quantity by 50.1% compared with previous year
Industrial waste -Overall reduction by 59.8%
{Energy Conservation}
- Efficient utilization of electrical energy by installing an independent (electric) power generator
- Installing a new energy efficient boiler and improving the heat control systems throughout the plant

{Eco- Activity}
Hamari promoted a clean-up campaign for the industrial park during the weekends.Hamari was actively involved in planting trees and cleaning areas near the local town and river. Hamari is an active member of the community since many of Hamari's employees also live in the Yamagata prefecture.

Polaprezinc: 2000 Chemistry Technical Development Award from The Society of Pure & Applied Coordination

Polaprezinc is gaining further attention worldwide, when receiving this October The Society of Pure & Applied Coordination Chemistry Technical Development Award for 2000 given out by Society of Pure & Applied Coordination Chemistry. Polaprezinc consists of a combined Peptide / Zinc-complex, which has shown remarkable effects in case of gastric ulcers.

Hamari Chemicals had been chosen for this prize, because of its great contribution to the process of developing new drugs based on a metal-protein-complex. It is still rare to apply Zinc-complex for drug use, when this new drug not only will draw attention for its effectiveness, but as well has opened up a new research field.

Since 1994 Polaprezinc is sold in Japan with a great success.

For the month of February Hamari Chemicals can exemplify our commitment to reach for the best for the environment and its people:

(February 27) Hamari Chemicals received the "Ishii Devise Merits Prize" for the discovery of Polaprezinc, a pharmaceutical used in the cure for peptic ulcer. The Japan Society for the Advancement of Inventions (JSAI) awarded Hamari Chemicals, which bears witness that we pay attention to the quality of our products and services.

(February 16) Hamari is certified ISO 14001.
Further to underline our commitment to the environment the recent ISO 14001 quality certification (February 16) of our Yonezawa plant shows that we take our responsibility to the ecosystem very seriously.
